The Details Tell the Story

I've always believed the details tell the story.
Long before I worked in design, I found myself noticing the things other people often walked past. The way morning light falls across a table. Beautiful packaging arriving through the letterbox. A perfectly designed menu. Fresh flowers on a café table. A favourite coffee shop tucked away on a quiet street. A well-made coat that somehow feels timeless. A notebook with pages waiting to be filled. Even something as simple as finding the table in the sun.
To me, those moments have never been ordinary.

They're the details that make an experience memorable.
Over the years I've realised that's how I approach almost everything. Whether I'm art directing a campaign, photographing a beautiful meal, discovering an independent brand or planning a weekend away, I'm always drawn to the little details that make something feel considered.
They're often the things that stay with us long after the moment has passed.
This Journal is where I'll collect those moments.
Some entries will take you behind the scenes of my creative work. Others will share places I've visited, brands I've discovered, restaurants I've loved, books I've enjoyed or everyday finds that have inspired me. Sometimes it might simply be an observation that made me stop and appreciate the world a little differently.
Because inspiration doesn't only arrive in big moments.
Sometimes it arrives with a beautifully wrapped parcel.
Sometimes it's finding the last sunny table outside a café.
Sometimes it's a handwritten note inside a package from a small business.
Sometimes it's the perfect pencil case, a vase that changes a room, or a beautifully designed menu that reminds you someone cared enough to think about every detail.
Those moments might seem small.
I don't think they are.
I think they're what give life character.
I hope this Journal becomes a place you enjoy returning to. Somewhere to slow down for a few minutes, discover something new, see familiar things from a different perspective and perhaps notice details you might otherwise have missed.
Because I've always believed the details tell the story.
And I think they're often where the best stories begin.
